JUNIOR DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

A Brief Overview

Commencing at the beginning of the 2011 school term, Russell Vale Junior Committee have revamped the Junior Program. Clinics for beginners have ceased for the time being in order to allow the Committee to refocus their attention on existing juniors, in order to re-establish and prepare for entering a Junior Boys Pennant team in 2012.
Existing juniors will participate in clinics with particular attention being paid to match play etc.
We do of course welcome juniors with experience to join our program.

2009 Round Robin Girls Tournament

Blackheath 27th September 2009

In freezing conditions the 4 representatives from the Illawarra travelled to Blackheath to represent Women's Golf Illawarra.
The weather conditions deteriorated to such an extent that the competition had to be abandoned after 9 holes. Temperature at hit off time (7.30am) was - 6 degrees!!!

JNJGF Under 12 Classic - RVGC 7th July 2008

First time this event has been held outside Sydney Metropolitan area. Total of 66 starters from all over the state (and 1 from Perth). A great day was had by all, thanks to our wonderful volunteers.
Foundation officials have indicated they will be back.

MUSWELLBROOK 36 HOLE JNJGF CLASSIC - August 2008

Elissa Nikolich and Shaun Julius were sponsored by Club Member Paul Shoobert (Aplex Constructions)

Elissa played her best round ever when she recorded a 5 over par round on Day 1. This score allowed her to return a 13 over par round on Day 2 and take out the overall 36 hole event as well as Day 1. Congratulations.
Shaun was not so lucky, but returned 2 cards 83 off the stick. A great weekend was had by all.

ILLAWARRA/NEPEAN CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

Playing against the Club Champion from all clubs in the Illawarra/Nepean, Elissa managed a well earned victory in what will be probably her first and most prestigeous event so far in her career.

JNJGF ROOKIE OF THE YEAR 2009

Elissa Nikolich was awarded the Rookie of the Year Award at the JNJGF Dinner at Concord Golf Club on 6th November 2008.

The gruelling 5 day event concluded with final day at Wollongong on Friday 15th January. 18 Juniors from our club competed in the event.
